Rebecca has been serving in Bucharest since 2005 concentrating on helping children from illiterate families have success in school through an aggressive after school program including a daily Bible study. However Romania implemented some severe law changes to protect children, which actually dismantled the after school program held at Calvary Chapel Bucharest. (All children’s school programs require psychologists and social workers to be on staff in addition to many other things) At this point, Rebecca has gone back to tutoring young student’s right in their homes with the permission of the parents. The advantage of teaching at home is the extra personal contact with family members giving more opportunities to share the gospel. “I have been asked so many times why I would leave California to come here and it is the best opportunity to point to God!”

Even though the school program is on hold at this time, Calvary Chapel Bucharest continues to reach out to at least 50 neighborhood kids with a weekly youth program and a special Sunday evening service for their parents.

Rebecca recently became a foster mother to a 12 year old girl with special needs and is currently considering adoption.

On Eagles’ Wings is an outreach of Calvary Chapel Bucharest. Rebecca also serves on staff of CCB helping wherever is needed; whether it is cleaning, driving, children’s church or hosting a team.
