Eastham - Uganda

John and Lily met while in pharmacy school. In 1993, they began serving together in international missions through Project Compassion, an evangelical medical missions group. They have made trips to numerous countries in Latin America, Asia, Europe and Africa.

John’s first trips to Africa were in 2000 and 2002, participating in medical outreaches to Malawi and Kenya. John first sensed God’s call to serve in Africa during the Kenya trip. In 2006 and 2007, after trips to Uganda, John and Lily felt a greater desire to serve the Lord in Africa.

John is the Operations Manager at Calvary Chapel Kampala and interacts with all the church’s ministries. He also disciples new believers. In addition to homeschooling the children, Lily serves in women’s ministry. The kids enjoy serving in children’s ministry.

To open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.” Acts 26:18
